Teaching art through intuitive play

The de Youngsters is a permanent interactive environment in the family gallery of San Francisco's de Young museum that allows children and caregivers to explore artistic concepts such as color, composition, shape/form, texture and sculpture. To facilitation this exploration we designed an interactive environment that connects children to creativity and learning in a physical and experiential way.

As Creative Technology Directory (Tellart) I supported the project’s design, engineering, software development, prototyping/testing, fabrication, installation and automation.

The design creates and dynamic and engaging learning environment that appeals to both children and adults. Each are utilizes technology to intuitively blend the physical and digital environment that makes exploring easy and fun.
